We hope you will join us for our AGM on Monday, November 21, 7 – 9 pm. There will be a special presentation by Fiona Beaty, a University of British Columbia PhD student studying the adaptive capacity of marine socio-ecological systems to change. Fiona poses the question:

How do we prioritize what to protect from climate change when we care about everything everywhere all at once?

Synopsis: We know that climate change is affecting our whole worlds – from where we can live to what we can eat, breathe, and see. So what do we do about it? Well, that’s a harder question to answer and one that can take us on emotional rollercoasters and down rabbit holes of research. On November 21st, I look forward to sharing some of my personal experiences and research results created during the past five years of graduate school as I have studied how climate change is affecting life in and around the Salish Sea. We will journey from whelks and eelgrass to cli-fi and tools of political disruption. Looking forward to it!

This year, the AGM will take place in person at the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea or on Zoom. Please email Alison: alison@seachangelife.org for the Zoom link.

Memberships to SeaChange are available for $25 (waged) or $10 (unwaged). Memberships can be paid by cheque or by e-transfer to alison@seachangelife.org.

Thank you for your support and we hope to see you on Monday November 21!
