JACQUES SIROIS – Introduction

A naturalist, birdwatcher and restoration enthusiast, Jacques has spent the last decade promoting and revitalizing historic Victoria Harbour Migratory Bird Sanctuary.

In the last five decades, he has worked and visited several Migratory Bird Sanctuaries and National Wildlife Areas across Canada.

Inspired by Greater Victoria’s natural environment, one of the best in urban Canada, he now has a particular interest in nature in the city.

He strongly believes that nature makes cities better.

NIKKI WRIGHT – Keynote Speaker Nikki has served as the Executive Director of

SeaChange Marine Conservation Society from 1998 to January, 2023. SeaChange is a small not for profit marine focused marine conservation organization based in British Columbia, Canada.

Nikki is a passionate believer in the work of millions of us across the globe, healing the fractured relationship we have developed with all of life. In particular, she considers herself very fortunate to work within communities to change our relationship with 70% of the planet – the ocean.
